An item dated Liverpool the26th reported that the Italian steam tanker Lucania was grounded at Askew Spit but refloated with the loss of two anchors. She came from Curacao. Later was reported that she was driving in the Mersey channel with a damaged rudder. Tugs were underway to assist her.
