Naval operations of the Dutch East Company at Macassar according to the Generale Missive dated 25 March 1741

The Westerdijkshorn, Haften, Zoetelingskerke and Velsen arrived safely. The Velsen transport 191 slaves towards Batavia with 15 extra soldiers for protection. The Haften was supplied with 6 extra sailors, while the 29 European common sailors weren’t able to control the ship with bad weather. The costs account of the ships were fl. 2.696, fl. 169, fl. 2.499 and fl. 2.602. There were 25 October 4 sloop, 1 galliot, 3 pantjalangs, 4 scows, 1 boat and 2 row boats available. The pantjalang Wantrouw was driven by the strong current and the darkness on the cliffs before the Mandarese river. The account of what exactly happened was found insufficient.
