Austrian homeless arrested and send to public works and the navy according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 27 August 1844

In Vienna, Austria were recently between 300 and 400 men arrested who didn’t had any accommodation (the newspapers called them straatslijpers=dawdles?) and harassed during the night the security of the city and who were send to Trieste and Venice to work at the Public Works or to serve in the navy.
