The American naval base at San Francisco according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 29 May 1920

The House of Representatives and the Senate approved that navy budget of 1.436,000,000 dollar after the compromise dealing with the founding of a new naval base at San Francisco. The Senate was against such a project. To solve this problem was decided to appoint a commission with five members of the House and 5 senators to investigate the possibilities in the Bay and to report their findings before 31 December 1920.
