Frankfurt, 21 April. The frigate Hellas, commanded by Mialis, the steamship Constancia and the brig Nelsen were ordered to blockade the coast of Eubea.

Livorno, 11 April. The corvette la Citta di Navarino, built at Livorno for account of the Pasha of Egypt, left Livorno 11 March and joined in the morning of the 12th off Porto-Ferrajo the at Marseille built corvette la Lionne. Both ships were sighted some days later with a favourable wind off Messina. The Egyptian war brig Washington, of 18 guns and a crew of 250 men, arrived at Livorno, coming in 33 days from Alexandria. She left the latter harbour with a war brig, but was separated from her in a storm in the waters of Candia, and nothing was heard or seen of her more. Both ships transported the crew and the commanding officers for the 60-gun frigate which was built at Livorno and nearly completed fro departure. The building of new ships and the delivery of stores were supplied quite a lot of profit for the town. The Egyptian sailors were now dressed in proper uniforms.
