Spanish naval movements coming from South America according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 18 August 1785

Cadiz, 19 July. On 11 and 15 July arrived here coming from Vera Cruz, Mexico and Campeche the frigate el Diamante and the brigantine St. Joseph. The first was loaded with 46,498 pesos, 494 arroben cocheneal, 1,900 quintalen paint timber, 44,000 vaynillas [vanilla?], 14 quintalen Jalap and some timber. The second transported 28,231 pesos and 2,795 quintalen paint timber. Further more arrived the ship el Santiago and the frigate la Rosalia with on board around 8.000,000 pesos coming from Havana, Cuba and Vera Cruz.

San Sebastian. 18 July. The frigate el Infante Carlos coming from Maracaibo and last from Pasage arrived 14 July with on board 2,007 fanegas cacao, 12,819 pesos, 2,350 skins and 3,915 arroben sugar.
