The Russian 3-master Enigkeit in fire at her anchorage at Bordeaux according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 27 July 1821

Paris, 22 July. In the afternoon of 17 July occurred a fire in the Russian 3-master Enigkeit of 350 last at her anchorage off Bordeaux. She was underway from Riga, Latvia with a cargo of shelves. The fire skipped to the Elisa owned by a merchant of Bordeaux anchored nearby the Russian ship. The Elisa was despite being heavily damaged saved thanks to the efforts of the sailors. The Russian ship and her cargo was completely lost, the damaged was estimated being more as 150.000 francs.
