American bark Sarah B. Hale destined to become a whaler according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 5 January 1875

An item reported that the 202 tons bark Sarah B. Hale of Portland was acquired by citizens of New Bedford with the intention to fit her out as a whaler. Holder Slocum former 1st officer of the bark Pioneer was to become her captain.
