Dutch bark ship Soolo destined towards the USA according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche courant dated 29 March 1847

An announcement reported the intended departure of the Dutch coppered bark ship Soolo captain J.R. Butter from Rotterdam before or on 20 April towards New York, USA. Fore more details De Groot Roelants&Co., Schiedam and Van Ulphen&Ruys and Wambersie en Crooswijck both of Rotterdam.(1)

1. Emanuel Wambersie (11 October 1761 Gent, Belgium-6 October1829 Aelter, Belgium) and Dionijs Burger jr. (26 January 1788 Rotterdam(-17 November 1860 Rotterdam) shipping agents firm Wambersie&Burger since 1 January 1821. After the death of his father became his son John (1806 Savannah, Georgia-19 February 1874) partner in the firm. Burger left the business on 31 January 1838. Since 1 February 1838 until 31 January 1858 shipping agents firm Wambersie&Crooswijck. Henricus Willem Cornelius Crooswijck (1806 Rotterdam-18 January 1859). Emanuel and his son John were both consul for the USA in Rotterdam. Their (grand) son August Andrew (19 February 1835 Rotterdam) was vice-consul due to having the Dutch nationality. He became partner in the firm Wambersie&Zoon on 1 February 1858.
