American whaler Splendid lying in October at Honolulu according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 18 December 1866

An item referred to a letter written by captain Fisher on board of the Splendid of Edgartown lying on 28 October at Honolulu reporting a catch that season of 1.200 barrels whale oil. He departed from Herald Island (Russian island in the Chukchi Sea) on 23 September with his blubber room filled with five whales and nice weather. If he had more empty casks on board his catch would have hundreds of barrels more. He was now homeward bound without any delay.
