Dutch paddle steamship 1st class Zr.Ms. Amsterdam decommissioned for major repairs according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 18 December 1859

An item reported that the Dutch steamship Zr.Ms. Amsterdam commanded by Clarkson was to be decommissioned on the 25th/ Her crew was transferred to the guard ship. The Amsterdam was to undergo extensive repairs at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands
