French steam yacht Jerôme Napoleon visited Delfzijl, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche Courant dated Saturday 5 September 1868

An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 4th reported that Wednesday afternoon the French war steam ship Jerôme Napoleon with on board prince Napoleon arrived on the roads of Delfzijl, Netherlands. Citizens of Delfzijl were apparently allowed to visit the ship. One eyewitness described her. The officer accommodation were alike saloons, the cabin of the prince was the nicest he ever saw and the 3 brass guns on deck were shining/ The crew numbered 150 all brave men, some apparently knights in the Légion d‘honneur.(1)

1. The Dutch newspaper Dagblad van Zuidholland en ’s-Gravenhage dated 30th August called her in an item dated Delfzijl the 26th a steam yacht which arrived that afternoon. She left Boulogne at 05.00 o’clock. The Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated Monday 31 August reported her arrival Wednesday afternoon departing on Thursday. Horsepower of 42 hp.
