In the meeting of the director and the commissaries pm 15 March 1908 was a letter of the minister of navy discussed. He intended to sent an engineer and a navy officer to investigate the developments in the field of submarines. The minister wondered of the Electric Boat Company wanted to cooperate.(1) De Kon. Mij. Schelde would sent a letter to the USA with this request. Further more reported the director that the contract with the shipyard of Whitehead at Fiume was approved.
