An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 1st reported that a day earlier the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. De Brak (1) arrived on the roads leaving the Dokhaven. The Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Amphitrite (2) commanded by Machielsen sailed upstream the Schelde.(3)

2. Flush-decked corvette, on stocks at the navy yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands by C. Soetermeer 1827, launched 22 June 1830, reduced to 20-gun ‘kuil’-corvette 1837, stricken >1851-1852<, with as dimensions 39 (between perpendiculars) x 10,5 (inner hull) x 4,10 (fore)-4,70 (aft) x 5,37 (hold below deck) metres and a displacement of <850 tons. The armament consisted of 18 short 30pd guns and 2-12pd guns after 1837.
3. On 25 August 1830 started a revolt in what afterwards become the independent kingdom of Belgium but at that moment since 1815 still part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. On 4 October 1830 declared the Belgians their independence, on 21 July 1831 was their first king installed. Not earlier as in 1839 accepted the Netherlands the consequences (Treaty of London).
