American whaler Midas lying in March at Mangoniu, New Zealand according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 7 June 1864

An item referred to a letter written by captain  Howland on board of the bark Midas on the 5th March at Monganui [Mangoniu, New Zealand?] reporting  a catch of 175 barrels sperm oil last year. He sent 215 barrels sperm oil with the bark Courser. He was now bound for Ochotsk, Russia. Measured 326 tons. Agents James B. Wood&Co. Departed on 15 May 1861 to the Pacific.
