An item referred to a letter written by the steward of the bark Oliver Crockson of New Bedford reported that on 23rd May she was at sea on the position 40°30’North and 48° West. Four days after leaving her homeport were 4 sperm whales caught giving 50 barrels oil. Her captain was Lapham. Agents James B. Wood&Co. Departed on 19 (?) April 1864 for the North Pacific.
