British brig sloop HMS Elk arrived at Madra, British Indies coming from Malaysia according to the Dutch newspaper Java Government Gazette dated 23 March 1816

An item reported the arrival at Madras, British Indies on 31 December 1815 of the British brig HMS Elk commanded by J. Reynolds leaving Penang, Malaysia on the 23rd.(1)

1. Brig sloop of the Cruizer-class, fir-built, launched at the shipyard of Barnard, Deptford, England on 22 August 1804, broken up 1812, a 382 tons builders measurement and an armament of 18 guns.
