American whaler Osceola sold at Pernambuco, Brazil after hitting a sandbank according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated 21 June 1859

An item reported that the American whaling bark Osceola captain Webb of New Bedford, USA leaving Pernambuco, Brazil on 9 May but was forced to return when she shit an unknown sandbank 41 miles north of Pernambuco and five miles distance from the coast. She was sold on the 16th. Tonnage 158 ton. Agent Charles S. Randall. Departed on 15 April 1857 bound for the Atlantic.
