German torpedo boat SMS D 3 visited Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 2 September 1898

An item reported the arrival at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands the day before of the German destroyer D 3.(1)

1. A torpedo boat laid down at the shipyard of F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany with yard number 365 in 1887, launched on 1 October, commissioned on 3 May 1888, became a coastal defence vessel in 1914, submarine training vessel in 1916, added to the minesweeper flotilla in 1919, stricken on 7 December 1920 and finally at Wilhelmshaven, Germany broken up a year later.
