Tests with electric shock torpedoes in the Nieuwe Waterweg according to the Dutch newspaper Roterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 5 January 1905

An item referred to an announcement of the inspector for the pilot service that since the 5th in the Nieuwe Waterweg Netherlands between the buoys no. 5 and 6 one or more electric shock torpedoes were anchored for tests during maximum two weeks. In close proximity was a schokker [ a kind of vessel] stationed, which during the nights lightened the required warning lights.
