British dredger Newport underway from the Netherlands towards Egypt according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Schiedamsche Courant dated 17 May 1907

An item reported the departure from the shipyard Gusto (firm A.F. Smulders), Schiedam, Netherlands on the afternoon two days earlier of the seagoing dredger Newport using her own steam towards Port-Saïd, Egypt. She was built for British account and British-flagged.(1)

1. Yardnumber 322 built for Wills&Son, Machester, England to be used at the Suez Canal Works. Bucket ladder dredger. Dimensions 55 (between perpendiculars) x 11,2 x 4,5 (hold) metres.
