Philippinean landing ship (ex-USS LST 865 1944-1948) Albay (LT 39)1947-1977/1979

Laid down at the shipyard Jefferson Boat and Machine Co., Jeffersonville, Indiana, USA on 19 October 1944, launched on 22 November, commissioned on 16 December, decommissioned on 30 December 1948, handed over by the Philippines and renamed Albay. Stricken from the US Navy list on 22 January 1948. A 542-class LST=Tank Landing Ship. Displacement 6.20 (standard)-2.366 (beaching)-4.080 (full load) tons, cargo capacity 2.100 tons and as dimensions 103,6 (waterline)-107,5 (over all) x 19 x 7 x 4,9 metres or 316’-328’ x 50’ x 14’. Maximum speed in 12 knots. An armament of 7/8-4cm anti aircraft guns (1x2 or 2x2 and 4/5x1) to which 2cm anti aircraft guns were added in Philippean service and2x2-4cm guns, 4x1-4cm guns and 12x1-2cm guns in American service. Crew numbered 60-110 men in Philippean service and 163 in American service.
