Laid down at the shipyard of Bethlehem Steel Company, Quincy, Massachusetts, USA, on 22 February 1944, launched on 29 March, commissioned as LST 1010 25 April,. The armament in South Korean service consisted around 1977 of 8/10-4cm anti aircraft guns, around 2002 of 2x2-4cm anti aircraft guns, 4x1-4cm anti aircraft guns, 2x1-2cm anti aircraft guns, in US Navy Second World War service 2x2-4cm guns, 4x1-4cm guns and 12x1-2cm guns. The diesels supplied 1.700 bhp allowing with the two shafts a speed of 11,6 knots.
