Spanish steamship Giralda sunk by submarine according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 30 January 1918

 An item reported that in Spain with huge anger was reacted when became known what happened when the Spanish steamship Giralda 30 miles west of La Guardia, Spain was torpedoed. The Spanish sailors were robbed by the crew of the submarine. They were later picked up by another ships and disembarked at Vigo, Spain.
