British screw steam sloop HMS Flying Fish underway from Dutch East Indies towards England according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 3 January 1887

An item dated Batavia, Dutch East Indies reported the departure of the British steamship of war Flying Fish captain Melear towards England.(1)

1. Composite screw steam sloop launched at the Chatham dockyard on 8 November 1873, rebuilding as a survey ship was ready in April 1880, sold in December 1888, with an original armament of 2-7” guns and 2-64pd guns.
