Australian tug (ex-Fishguard, ex-Plover 1920-1937) Swiftness 1937-1979

Built at the shipyard of Fleming&Ferguson, Paisley, Scotland as the steam tug Fishguard for account of Topham, Jones&Railton Limited in 1920. Renamed Plover. In 1937 renamed Swiftness and registered in Melbourne, Australia. Converted on a 750 bhp diesel tug with as owner Derwent Tug Company, Hobart, Tasmania in 1958. Toyally burned out was she scuttled in Storm Bay near Little Betsey Island, Tasmania on 21 August 1979. At that moment was her owner called Hobart Tug&Lighterage Company. Dimensions 98.4 x 22.3 x 10.1 feet and a gross register tonnage of 146 tons.
