Of the admiralty Amsterdam, built by contract by A. Staats at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1782, captured by British HMS Monarch in the battle of Camperdown on 11 October 1797, arrived at Hull, England on 25 October 1797, dimensions (Amsterdam foot) 173’5½” (keel from kinnebak to backside after prom) -179 (lower keel) x 48’9” (inner hull)-48 9/11 x 22 and an armament of 70-76 guns. Commanding officers in 1783-1784 commanding officer J.H. van Kinsbergen, in 1784-1785 P.J. Gervais, 4 June-7 October 1797 J.v. Nes and since 7 October 1797 vice admiral H. Reyntjes. Flagship of vice-admiral Reyntjes at the battle of Camperdown, 61 dead and 97 wounded men on board, Reyntjes died on 18 November due to his wounds.
