Dutch paddle steamship 4th Admiraal van Kinsbergen destined fo Suarabaya, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche staatscourant dated 2 April 1865


An item dated 15th February referred to tidings dealing with the movements of the Dutch squadron in the Dutch East Indies reported that the Dutch paddle steamship 4th Admiraal van Kinsbergen (1) lieutenant 1st class R.P. Struick served at the station south and east department of Borneo and was to be replaced at the Théwé by the Zr. Ms. Madura (2) and to be escorted by the Zr. Ms. Linge (3) towards Surabaya, Dutch East Indies.

Paddle steamship 4th class, call sign GQBN, built at the shipyard of the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij at Rotterdam, Netherlands but apparently disassembled and assembled at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies in 1853-1854, commissioned on 7 May 1853, docked at Bandjermassing, Dutch East Indies 21 August-15 September 1877, decommissioned 25 December 1877 at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies, condemned, displacement 293 tons and as dimensions 45,72 x 6,50-12,40 (over side wheels) x 1,70 metres, horsepower 70 hp, armament one 30 pd gun and a crew numbering 43 men (1877).
2. Call sign GQNH, iron-built, laid down at the shipyard of the Ned. Stoomboot Mij. Fijenoord, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1855 with yard number 52, launched in 1856, trials 17-23 August 1856, disassembled to the Dutch East Indies and assembled at Surabaya, participated in the Boni-expedition in the Dutch East Indies on 19 February 1859, stricken in 1875, building costs ƒ 380.000,00, dimension 51,36 (between perpendiculars) x 9,45-14,83 (over paddle wheels) x 1,85 metres, displacement 425 tons, horsepower maximum 100 hp, an armament of 3 guns 1-30pd, 2-12pd carronades) and a crew numbering 50 men.
3. Screw steamship 4th class, on stocks at D. Borkes, Gouda, Netherlands in 1859, launched in 1860, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands between 2-7 September 1861, commissioned on 1 November 1861, decommissioned on 18 January 1867, building costs ƒ 227.232,85, dimensions 38,00-40,70 (over all) x 8,16 x 3,20 metres, 586 tons displacement, 6 guns, 75 men, 6-7 knots speed, 80nph/200 eph.
