Italy continued with building destroyers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 6
An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau dated 22 October 1924 reporting that at the end of 1924 the Italian navy was to have 3 destroyers of the Leone-design and 7 of the Monzambano-design. The Leone had a displacement of 2.160 ton, a horsepower of 50.000 hp and a speed of 35 miles and an armament of 8-12cm guns, 2-7cm guns and 6-53,3cm torpedo launchers. The Monzambano had a displacement of 920 ton, a horsepower of 27.000 hp resulting in a speed of 33 miles. The armament consisted of 4-10cm guns, 2-7cm guns and 6-45cm torpedo launchers.
