An item reported that the in January laid down French battleship of the Normandie-class 25.2000 battleships was to be named Béarn. The battleships to be laid down in 1915 were to be named Lyon, Lille, Duquesne and Tourville. The new battleships of 1914 were an increased Normandie type with a displacement of 29.500 ton and as dimensions 190 x 29 metres. Their speed was to be 23 miles. The intended armament consisted of 4x4-34cm guns and 28-12,8cm guns. The thickness of the armour was 34cm and further more an increased watertight partitioning.
