German navy ordered to fight until the last men died according to the Dutch newspaper Het Oosten dated 22 November 1918

An item referred to the Socialistic Berliner magazine Vorwaerts which claimed that on 28th October the German fleet indeed was ordered to attack for the last time and fight until all ships were lost. The Pan Germans believed that due such a naval battle the German people retained the spirit of 1914. The fleet was to manoeuvre but the story on board was that everyone had to sacrifice his life with as result a mutiny and according to the same magazine the source of the revolt. Two hundred trainees and anther 103 sailors drowned when their training ship was rammed and sunk by two warships showing the red flag.
