An item referred to the
Socialistic Berliner magazine Vorwaerts which claimed that on 28th October the
German fleet indeed was ordered to attack for the last time and fight until all
ships were lost. The Pan Germans believed that due such a naval battle the
German people retained the spirit of 1914. The fleet was to manoeuvre but the
story on board was that everyone had to sacrifice his life with as result a
mutiny and according to the same magazine the source of the revolt. Two hundred
trainees and anther 103 sailors drowned when their training ship was rammed and
sunk by two warships showing the red flag.
