An item reported that the Greek corvette Miaulis built by Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerrannée, La Seyne, France was to complete her trials end October before her delivery to Greece. During her first trial with a 4-bladed propeller was a speed of 15,6 knots achieved. During her second trials was a 3-bladed propeller used resulting in an extra 4 revolutions although the speed decreased to 15-15,2 knots. She was wood-built with a ram bow, with a full frigate rigging and armed with 2 heavy guns in casemates at both sides.(1)

1. The Navarchios Miaoulis, building ordered in 1877, laid down in 1878, launched and commissioned in 1879, training ship for gunners and officers at Poros in 1921 and stricken in 1931. Her armament consisted of 3x1-17cm/6.7” /25 cal guns, 1-17cm/6.7” /20 cal gun and 6x1-3,7cm/1”/1pd guns. Called a cruiser.
