Viriginia-class
An item referred to the Army and Navy Journal reporting that the Virginia (1) part of the American Atlantic Fleet executed full speed tests of with the following results: speed 17(design)-19,01 (when handed over)-19,054 (in service) miles and with a displacement of 14.979 (when handed over)-16.140 (in service) tons.

1. Virginia-class consisting of the New Jersey, Rhode Island, Virginia, Georgia and Nebraska. Preceded by the Maine-class and succeeded by the Connecticut-class. After the Spanish-American War became clear that if the US Navy wanted to operate abroad larger battleships were needed. Starting with designs based on the Maine-class design increased the displacement more and more in the developing process. Laid down by Newport News Shipbuilding on 21 May 1902, launched on 6 April 1904, commissioned on 7 May 1906, decommissioned on 13 August 1920, for sale on 12 July 1922, handed over to the War Department on 6 August 1923 and sunk while used as a target off the Diamonds Shoals Lightship, Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, USAon 5 September 1923.
