Dutch bark Ardjoeno forced to sell part of her cargo coal at Cape Town, South Africa according to the Dutch newspaper De locomotief dated 17 January 1888

An item dated Cape Town, South Africa 16th November 1887 reported the arrival on the 12th of the Dutch bark Ardjoeno captain Bart loaded with coal underway from Cardiff, England towards Amboina, Dutch East Indies. The temperature in the cargo had risen to unacceptable height and around 500 tons of coal were unloaded and sold in the morning of the 16th on a public auction.(1)
