Newly British motor torpedo boats made acceptable engine noise according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1937 no. 7

An item reported that the engines noise of the new British motor torpedo boats could be earlier heard than within a distance of 1 nautical mile which was comparable with the noise made by a multi-engine airplane on high altitude.
