Royal Netherlands Navy ordered float planes in England according to the Dutch newspaper De Indische Courant dated 2 January 1925



An item reported that the Royal Netherlands Navy ordered 4 float planes at the Fairey Aviation Company in England for the new cruisers.(1)

1. For the Dutch East Indies were 4 floatplanes Fairey IIID bought. The Dutch cruisers were the Hr. Ms. Java (1916-1942) and Sumatra (1916-1944), both of the Java-class light cruisers.
