American Pacific fleet extra patrolling off Chinese coast according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 6 May 1933

An item dated Shanghai, China 5th reported that the American Pacific-fleet as precaution suddenly was patrolling Chingtao, Chefoo and Tangku with 3 battleships, 2 cruisers, 2 aircraft carriers and 5 submarines and destroyers.(1)

1. The Republic of China and the Empire of Japan signed 31 May 1933 the so-called Tanggu Truce which made an end of the Japanese invasion of Manchuria.
