Seal hunting season off Newfoundland failure according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 14 April 1882

An item dated Dundee, Scotland 10th April reported that according to a received telegram the seal hunting season off Newfoundland was nearly a complete failure. The sailing ship Wolf of Greenock arrived at St. John’s, Newfoundland with her holds nearly filled. However her master that on 23 March the other ships nearly chases nothing and now were completely fixed by the ice. The reason was the too late arrival of the fleet on the hunting grounds.
