French navy ordered new building of destroyers according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1908 No. 1

An item reported three French 450 tons destroyers were to built by Normand, Le Havre and the 2 shipyards at St. Nazaire, each one. The armament was to consisted of 6-6,5cm quick firing guns and 3 torpedo tubes and further more as the first French destroyers to be oil-fuelled.
