Romanian government taken over Greek vessels on the Danube according to a CIA report dated 25 March 1949

An item reported that the Romanian state company Rumanian Danubian Societ (S.R.D.) intended to take over the administration of the Greek owned and Greece-flagged vessels active on the Danube of which the owners were not able to pay salaries and upkeep of their crews. The crews asked for legal action. The government was to pay salaries and the maintenance resulting in fact in taken over the vessels.
