Also called a gunboat. Laid down by Cant. dell’ Adriatico, Monfalcone, Italy in 1935, launched on 22 July 1936. Sister ship Bangrachan, the project third vessel was never built. Displacement 368 (standard)-408 (full load) tons and as dimensions 160¾ x 26 x 7¼ feet. Armament consisted of 2-3” anti aircraft guns and 2-2cm anti aircraft guns and able to take 14 mines with her. Machinery consisted of Burmeister&Wain diesel engines supplying via 2 shafts 540bhp allowing a speed of 12 knots. With a fuel oil bunker capacity of 18 tons was the range 2.700 nautical miles. Crew numbered 55 men.
