Built by William Denny&Brothers, Dumbarton, Scotland with yard number 788 as the ss Culna for account of the British India Steam Navigation Company, Glasgow&London in 1907, bought by the Ryuoh Kosen K.K., Japan in 1923 and renamed Ryujin Maru, renamed Ryuzin Maru and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Grayling south of Shikoku, Japan on 13 April 1942. Gross tonnage 6.243 tons, deadweight 9.350 tons and as dimensions 431 (waterline) x 54 x 10 (light)-27;3”(loaded) feet or 133,8 x 16,6 x ,4 metres. Range 9.600 nautical miles with a speed of 10 knots and a coal bunker capacity of 1.440 tons. Reciprocating steam engine driven one screw and with 760nhp a speed of 10 (cruising)-12,5 (maximum) knots.
