An item reported the arrival of J.N. Liske coming from Bergen [Norway?] reporting the arrival there on the7th of the Onderneming commandeur J. Castricum met 7 whales, 100 quardelen en the Cornelis en Kan commandeur M. Meuw with 3 whales and 75 quardelen, both returning from Greenland. The Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haarlemsche courant dated 27 August 1803 reported that they take commandeur J. Gauw and his son with them. The Visschershoop of Gauw was captured on 17th July on 76 degrees off the ice by a privateer from Liverpool.
