Russian aircraft carriers under construction at Sczecin, Poland according to a CIA report dated 15 December 1950

An item suggested that near Szczecin, Poland on the geographical position 53.26 north and 14.32 east along the east riverbank of the Oder aircraft carriers were built. Just one carrier had already a completed bridge. This news was seriously commented. The shipyard was probably the Vulkan Werft which was the largest shipyard in that area.. But the commentator in fact disbelieved the news of the building while the shipyards at Szczecin [in the past named Stettin] were for a major part destroyed during the Second World War and even rebuild not able to build aircraft carriers, Furthermore built the shipyard since then just submarines, tankers and small coastal patrol boats.
