Russian whaling fleet arrived in the Antarctic according to the Australian newspaper Kalgoorlie Miner dated Monday 19 December 1949

An item dated London, England 18th referred to a Moscow Radio news item reporting the arrival of a Russian whaling fleet in the Antarctic. The crews wanted to increase their catches with at least 60% to honour the 70th birthday of Stalin (1) on next Wednesday.
