Launched by F. Schichau, Elbing, Germany with yard number 543 on 3 September 1894, commissioned on 29 December 1894, served as flagship for torpedo boat and minesweeper flotillas until 1907, modified in 1907, coastal defence vessel since 1914, submarine training vessel since 1916, added to a minesweeper flotilla in 1919, stricken on 7 December 1920 was she scrapped in 1921. Nicknamed Sturmvogel. With as dimensions 63,00 (over all) x 7,70 x 2,35 (forward)-3,73 (aft) metres and a displacement of 350 (design)-458 (maximum) tons. Original 1-vertical triple expansion steam engine and 3 locomotive boilers (later replaced by Marine-type boilers). With a design horsepower of 4.200 ihp/210 rpm was the speed 23.5 knots and her range with 106 tons coal bunker capacity 14 knots speed/2.600 nautical miles and 18 knots/1.480 nautical miles. After 1910 119 tons and 14/2.900. Armed with 3-5cm cal 40 guns and 3-45cm torpedo tubes (2 deck mounted, 1 submerged in the bow). Crew numbered 48-52 men.
