German coastal defence ship SMS Ägir or Aegir 1892-1929

Part of Odin-class coastal defence ships, preceded by Siegfried-class. Laid down by Kaiserliche Werft Kiel, Germany in 1892, launched on 3 April 1895, commissioned on 15 October 1896, rebuilt 1903-1904, out of active service and became a tender in 1915, decommissioned on 14 January 1916, stricken on 17 June 1919, converted into a merchant cargo ship and beached at Gotland, Sweden on 8 December 1929.
