Part of Preussen-class ironclads preceded by Hansa succeeded by Kaiser-class. Laid down by Kaiserliche Werft, Kiel, Germany with yard number 1 on 15 April 1871, launched on 20 September 1874, commissioned on 22 November 1877, active service until 1891, than harbour service ending her career as coal bunker, stricken on 21 January 1919 and broken up in 1920.
