Part of Victoria Louise-class protected cruiser, preceded by Kaiserin Augusta scceeded by Fürst Bismarck, laid down with contract name “Ersatz Freya” by Kaiserliche Werft, Danzig, Germany on 2 January 1896, launched on 27 April 1897, commissioned on 20 October 1898, stricken on 25 January 1920, became a barracks ship and broken up in 1921.
