Karl Dönitz (16 September 1891 Grünau, German Empire-24 December 1980 Aumühle, West Germany) supreme commander of the U-boat arm he was promoted to grand admiral and relased Erich Raider als Commander-in-Chief of the navy until 1 May 1945, Minister of War and President of Germany between 30 April-23 May 1945.
